Q: Where is the windshield wiper control box located in a 2004 Audi A4?
I am trying to locate the windshield wiper control box in an Audi A4 (2004). More specifically, I want to tap into that wiring, where is the best place to pick it up?
A: either pick up wire at switch or under the hood under the windshield cowl
Q: What type of radio removal tool do I need for my AUDI A4 2004?
I bought PANAVISE GPS mount for my AUDI A4 2004. But my question is what type of radio removal tool do I have to use to screw the mount? The part number and the website would be helpful.
Thank you so much.
A: if your audi has the double din radio (twice as tall as single din), you'll need two sets of tools but fear not, you can MAKE them yourself ! Go to the audiworld web site and use the search function for "radio tools". Multiple people have posted directions for turning your average file folder runners into tools. Basically the metal runners in any ordinary file folder is already the exact width you need to insert into the radio slots. All you need to do is cut a notch at a 45 degree angle about a quarter inch from the end. You'll see pictures of the finished product in the various posts on audiworld.
It's simple !

Q: Can I add speakers and amp to my stock radio, I have a 2004 audi A4?
The reason is that I have a 6 disk in dash CD player (Stock) and pretty much don't want to hassle with it? What would be the pros and cons for doing this (if it's possible)
A: it's absolutely possible, i have done it. any radio factory or otherwise can have a amplifier and therefor a sub or other speakers hooked to it. you just need a high to low lever converter (<$20) often times these are built in to the newer amps, however, a seperate converter is still of better quality.
Advantages:
lower cost
Stealth install (people dont know there is anything new)
dont loose factory features, such as steering wheel controlls.
disadvantages:
typically after market radios sound a bit better.
aftermarket can allow for additional features, bluetooth, sat radio, hd radio, ipod control ect...
i have 2 amps a sub and all new speakers all run off the factory radio.. you can see my

Q: How to set up a remote garage door opener built in 2004 Audi A4?
A: On the back of the garage door opener, is a button that says "learn." Hit that, and then press in the homelink button that you want for the garage door. Its best when you have a helper. If I am not mistaken, the garage light will flash, confirming its been read by the homelink. You may want to look at your owner's manual for clarification/details.
Q: How does the 2004 Audi A4 handle? How about the 2003?
I've been looking at a few. I know I love the 2008 one! It drives beautifully
A: It handles very well.
I have driven many Audi A4's.
The Turning radius is very good and they are very easy to park and manuever.
Q: Is it worth it to buy an extended "bumper to bumper" warranty on a 2004 Audi A4 Quattro with 33k miles on it?
A: Extended warranties are generally how your Finance person makes their money.
Vehicles with warranty issues will show those issues within the first few years of driving. Granted, 33k is a small number of miles on a 4 year old car, but most issues should have shown by now.
Check Consumer Reports for warranty issues on this particular model - from what I can see quickly, this vehicle rates quite high on reliability.
Enjoy your new car!
Q: What is the average cost of a repair for a 2004 Audi A4?
A: Depends on which system in the car needs repaired. Some are more costly than others, obviously a part that you need to rip half the engine apart to get to is going to be more costly than a piece where you can just slap it on with only taking out 2 bolts.
Audi's are pretty expensive cars though, so I would just guess....on average....probably between 700-1,000k. But again, it all depends on what is actually broken. I could be terribly off it all it needs is a sensor as compared to a whole new turbo, you know what I mean?
Q: Can my 2004 audi A4 run without its turbo engine?
I recently purchased an Audi A4 and 6 months later the engine blew. After replacing the engine they said they test drove the car and the Transmission blew. Well after 2 months go by with no rental car they call me and tell me my car will run but....the turbo blew and we arent fixing it and your warranty company wont help fix any of this. So can my car run without it's turbo? It runs alot more SLUGGISH and my check engine light is on? I need advice????? I have asked everyone my options.
A: Seems like you got to sue him.But that is depends on you.The car will run without turbo but is gonna be so slow you cant imagine and the fuel economy is gonna drop to much.
Q: Audi A4 2004 b6 1.8T Turbo (GT28RS or GT2871)?
hi, i have a 2004 Audi a4 and i want to put a bigger turbo on it...well, i want it to run safely on stock internals...but push some good power..i was reccomended the GT28RS kit..which it will push about 300-350hp and also i got reccomended the GT2871R which can push up to 400hp...but im going to need to change rods..supposedly...so what do you reccomend i do or any advice or input... thanks you :)
A: With a turbo, sometimes bigger is better. But just going bigger is not better. When ever you increase horsepower in a vehicle, you run the risk of damaging stock parts. A rule of thumb is going with bigger aftermarket turbos, the intercooler should also be change. Your going to be pushing more hotter air that needs to be cooled. Also your looking at approx 650 - 800 for a good sized turbo not including installation (unless you or someone you know does it). I suggest if its just a horsepower issue that you add a cold air intake, full exhaust (headers to muffler) intercooler with piping and a boost controller. This will run you slightly more in actually cost, but the payout will be worth it. Do this first then move on to the turbo. This the way I went and it worked for me just great.
Q: How do i install a performance chip for my 2004 audi a4 1.8t ?
A: When you install a performance chip you need three things:
1. Laptop
2. Software
3. Cable
If you look under your steering wheel you should see a slot that is flat that can allow for something to be plugged in.
In order to do chip your car, you're going to have to buy the software from either GIAC or APR and then download it on to your laptop and then install it from there.
Hope this helps :)
Q: how can i take the door panel off my 2004 audi a4 to change the window motor?
A: I would not avoid messing with it and take it to the Audi garage. My dad had a Rover before and the window motor sort of stopped working. I think on some cars the are screws on the trim (The part on the inside where the door handle, window switch, etc is), undo them and you are presented inside the door, then change the motor. The cover should come off. Don't come telling me or sewing me if this all goes wrong as this is a 'Do at your own risk type thing'. But my dad did this, went and got new parts, attached them, and there you go, it worked. REMEMBER, I AM NOT TO BLAME FOR YOUR MISTAKES!!! Get it assesed and done at an Audi Garage. By all means try this at your own risk but all I am saying is, if it doesn't work, don't blame me.

Q: 2004 Audi A4 key fob compatibility?
Hello I purchased a 2004 Audi A4. I am considering purchasing an uncut Key fob to have the dealer program and cut the key.
The sellers says “ Please verify part #'s with your Audi dealer or compare them to your existing remote before purchasing. If the #'s match, IT WILL WORK YOUR VEHICLE
In addition to an uncut keyblade this remote also has an entire new key assembly with an unprogrammed replacement transponder to eliminate transponder programming issues. “
The sellers advertises that it says 8Z0 *** *** F - FCC ID:M*******7231 which matches my key, however there are other numbers that are not available. What numbers are crucial concerning compatibility?
A: If those match you should be good, as far as cutting the key go to a VW dealer instead of Audi, it will be cheaper. And dont let them charge your to program it, you can easily do that yourself.
Q: Will a 2004 1.8T Audi A4 work on my 1998 1.8T?
Will a 2004 1.8T Audi A4 work on my 1998 1.8T? My turbo recently went bad cause of lag of oil to it. I found a 1.8T turbo for a good price and i was wondering will the turbo off the 2004 Audi 1.8T work on my 1998 1.8T turbo car?
Thank You.
A: The Turbo itself will work, but the whole motor is not going to be a direct replacement. Both motors use a Ko3 Turbo. So you're ok.
the motor in your 1998 is what is known as an AEB. The AEB motor has bigger intake ports on the head, the bottom end has an external water pump. The Motor in your car is also a Drive by Cable car. So if you were to swap the motors, you would need a full motor/wiring harness/etc.
Q: Any body knows keyless entry programming instructions on an Audi A4 2004?
A: To program the remote functions on a new key, get in your car with the car off and the driver side window rolled down.
insert the new key into the ignition
insert your vallet key in the driver side door lock (outside the car)
turn the vallet key towards lock and hold it there
while it is held towards lock, press the unlock button on your new remote for
2 seconds.
let go
press it again for 2 seconds
let go and you should hear an alarm honk or something like that.
