A6 more of a family car
Q: 2005 Audi A6 gas information?
Does an 2005 audi A6 V6 need premium gas?
A: Well, the recommended octane rating for an Audi is 91 octane (high-grade)...it is alright to use 89 octane (mid-grade) regularly without causing harm to the car...But do avoid putting in the 86 octane (low-grade) because it will really make your Audi run poorly (and noticeably so)
But since gas prices have dropped over a dollar, you should really try to stick with 91 octane or 89 octane if that is not available
But check the inside of your gas-cap and it will tell you exactly which octane you should be using...Also, remember that the higher the octane rating, the better your car will run, perform, and in the long run, maintain

i have a 2005 audi a6 and i want to put a s6 bumber on with the led strip were the fog lights are and i dont know were to buy one so if any one can give me a link to buy one let me know

Q: Best Body Kit for 2005 Audi A6?
I don't want it to look like it was added! I just want something to make it more sporty, and look like it came from Audi as part of a Sport Package, or something like that.
A: You could just go the stock route and put on a RS6 kit. Those can get expensive, so if your looking for just a little more just upgrade to an ultra sport bumper.
Q: Does the 2005 Audi A6 3.2 require Premium gas?
If you own a 05 A6 would you recomend it to others? I am interested in the 3.2L model.
Thanks
A: It is an EXCELLENT car!
The 3.2 engine delivers great output and performance.
I don't know about the availability in your country, but if I could, I'd choose a manual transmission, or if not, the DSG trans.
Of course you have to put premium gas! Everything related to the injection will last longer with premium gas.
Q: how much hp does a 2005 Audi a6 have?
A: Which engine.
It comes with different engines.
Engine power ranges from 250HP for the weakest, cheapest model, to 550HP for the RS6 version.
Q: Are there any actual Audi owners here?
Been hearing all negative type media on how unreliable Audi vehicles are. Are there any actual Audi owners here that could really give me information on reliability history? For example give me reliable history on the 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro model if you could please. I know they are expensive, but someday I'd love to own one for myself but rather save the trouble if they are not reliable.
Also are they expensive to maintain, parts. How much is a regular oil, filter change run? Insurance cost all the information that could really help me out. Thanks in advance.
The reason why I like these cars is simply because I had a friend come down from Arizona and he had a Audi A4 3.0 model which was simply an amazing car. The ride is so smooth, beautiful interior, great sound system.
A: Look here and you'd think twice about buying an Audi ever!

Too bad Audi marketing fiends got to answer first. What kind of weak doublespeak is this, "not unreliable but expensive to maintain". I know he is being kind trying to warn a few folks, but can't really come out and say it because it is that hand that feeds. But bottom line it is unreliable even if you put int all the expensive maintenance dollars.
Q: Steering problems in Audi A6?
I have a 2005 A6 TDI quattro. The front tyres have just been replaced. since replacement the car has a slight drift to the left, the wheels have been balanced and the alignment checked. But although mild the problem persists, has anyone else experienced this problem?
A: make sure you check the air pressure in both front tires.
if they are not directional, you can switch the front tires from left to right and if the pull goes the other way you have a radial pull.
if after the switch you have a pull going the same direction, then your alignment is out.
also make sure that all 4 tires are matching on that car. not good to have different tires on a quattro.
Q: Audi (The more answers the better PLEASE)?
Afer doing extensive research on many cars I finally found the one I want. Ok guys I really want a newer model Audi A6 3.2 Quattro. Everyone has there dream car, this is mine. I work hard and hardly spoil myself, I always put everyone else infront of me. I really want a pre-owned certified used 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro with atleast 30,000 miles on it, because I can't spend that much.
What advice would you give me to not get overpriced for a used Audi, and how much would a used Audi cost with around 30,000 miles on it?
Also how much would insurance be, like give me a close number to your knowledge.
Any general tips on financing, extended warranties, insurance cost, please I would really appreciate. Thank You!! I was thinking of a BMW but I like the Audi's better.
Alex
I'm 20, good driving record, live in eastern oregon.
A: Look, your mind is set on this car. You like it and it's a good car. Go for it and forget what other people say (I think it's a very good car, but it looks like a bar of soap on wheels, but I'm not the one buying it, so my opinion about how it looks doesn't count, and it IS a good car. )
Q: Audi's are not reliable?
I want a certified-pre owned 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro, but people everywhere say they are unreliable. Is this true, I know you can't beleive everything you hear but just to make sure?
Also how much would insurance be, I live in eastern oregon.
A: Well, the powertrain is pretty solid and you can run it a long time. That said, the problems are usually the little things here and there, like electrical parts, that go out and have to be replaced. Stuff like window switches, coolant hose joints, the ABS module (about $800 new, $500 recon). This does add up to the total ownership cost. That's been my experience.
In any case, you can keep an Audi for a long time provided you pay attention to maintenance, but it's not going to be as trouble free like a plain jane Accord or Camry, and it will cost more for regular service because it's a fancy German car. The CPO status does help with covering some repairs but it won't cover everything and it is for a limited time. From my experience overall reliability for other competing German cars such as BMW or Mercedes Benz isn't any better.
It's really up to you if this tradeoff is acceptable to you - a wonderful, great handling car that looks great from the inside and outside vs. no-fuss moderate cost transportation.
Insurance is going to vary a lot depending on your age and driving record, so I can't help you there.
Q: audi 2.7t a6 or subaru legacy gt or volvo s60R?
im looking at these 3 cars. which is cheapest to maintan and most reliable. also which is the funnest to drive and has the most performance? they are all 2004 except the legacy is 2005.
A: If you are looking for a fun ride, your best bet is the S60 R. It is a hell of a nice ride and very sought after so resale will be very good. The Audi is the most expensive to maintain and the Subaru is in a different category as far as luxury.
Volvo's are known as million mile vehicles for a reason... they last a long time if well maintained. They are not hard to maintain especially in the oil change department as you only need to have them done every 7500 miles. The Volvo is eons better when it comes to quality. If you look at the Audi closely, many of the interior features have probably lost some of their integrity where the Volvos Utilitarian features are just as they were when the vehicle was new, assuming the car has been well cared for.
Finally, Volvo's are the safest vehicles on the road. Something to think about if your planning on making use of the "R" ;-)
I am in the automotive industry and know cars very well.
My bet would be on the Volvo R
Good luck with your new vehicle, whatever you choose. If you have anymore questions, feel free to email me at rbulmer@gengras.com
Q: Which car would you choose?
1. 2003-2004 Mercedes Benz E500.
2. 2005 Audi A6 4.2
For the audi a6 4.2 its the new body ones, not the old ones.
A: I love the Mercedes. I just bought a 2003 C240 and several of my family members also drive Mercedes. You just can't go wrong with them.
Did you know that no matter how long you own your Mercedes that you can always get free jump start, gas, and flat tires changed at no charge to you?
I wonder if Audi offers that with their cars????
Q: Car Help Please?
I have a 2005 Audi A6 that I owe 38,000 on - Don't ask, its a long story, but I am WAY upside down. I want to get rid of it of it. I have 7000 to put towards it so I can get it down to 31000 but I am wondering, what would my best option be??
A: / You owe the full amount, so putting as much as you can toward the debt will help get the payments shortened.
The car is depreciating rapidly everyday, so the sooner you get rid of it, the higher the amount you will get for it.
As for being able to clear the title, you will have to satisfy the entire debt of $38,000 before the Security of Interest Filing will be released in order for you to be able to sell it. Right now, it is owned by you and the financial institution you owe the money to. They won't release their interest in the car until you have satisfied your debt to them.
Sometimes, paying off the debt early will decrease the interest payments, and therefore cause a reduction in the total amount owed when paid immediately (before the final payment is due). In that case, you could apply for a loan from another institution (at a low interest rate) for the expressed purposes of satisfying the car loan.
You might also refinance the loan for a longer term, with lower payments (but this will prolong the debt, and may cost more money).
You could sell it to someone who is willing to "take over payments." This requires you to contact a notary to witness an agreement drawn between you and the purchaser.
You could trade it in, and apply the negative equity toward a new vehicle, thereby reducing 'some' of the remaining cost, as well as clearing you of the title.
