Q: A question about selling a1995 Audi A6 Quattro AWD?
I have an oppurtunity to buy a 1995 Audi A6 Quattro 5-Speed, Heated Seats, Loaded, Leather, Everything. It has 147,000 miles. I won it at auction for $2000. It blue books for $5000. The owner said they would sell it for that price since I won it but they wouldn't mind if I backed out since it sold for so low. Do you think I could resell it and turn a profit?
A: blue book means very little . look for others for sale and what prices.
Q: is there a way to check the transmission fluid on my 1998 audi a6 quattro?
i heard only a audi dealer can check it is there another way cause they are so damn expensive?
A: If it's an Automatic trans, there's a dipstick. If it's Stick shift, there are two plugs on the side of the transmission, the top one is for checking fluid level. Unless you like to get real dirty crawling around under the car, take it to an oil change place. They can check it easily, and may not even charge you if it is not in need of fluid.
Q: What is the best tire for a 2003 Audi A6 Quattro driven in the Northeast?
I am looking for recommendations on tires that are good in the snow and rain as well as dry weather. I am a "spirited" driver who has had P6s (suck--gone in 10,000 miles) and Toyo Proxes (great). Alternatives? Size is 215/55 16. Thanks.
A: Kumho makes the Ecsta ASX which is an ultra-high performance all-season tire that carries a 30k warranty. Price is pretty fair too. Michelin makes the Hydroedge tire which is better but cost quite a bit more.
Q: how do i get my cd changer to work in my 1998 audi a6 quattro?
i loaded the cds and and closed the cover then i didnt see a option for cd?
A: Hit mode on the headunit until you see CD1 TR01- if it says NOCHGR or NO DSC, or NO CD- then the player is disconnected at either the headunit or the changer itself. If its at the headunit, then you will have to pull the radio, do not disconnect it! If you do, then you will have to know the anti-theft code- and usually people when they buy their cars second-hand, often do not get the code. To get the code, it involves a trip to the dealer and $60 bucks later. If its disconnected at the CD changer, take out the CD changer, and there will be a thick black cable somewhere back there where the changer resides, reconnect it.

Q: Is it possible to clean an EGR valve for a 98 audi a6 quattro and if so what is the best way to do it?
The check engine light came on and the car needs to be inspected.the egr valve is 500 dollars at local autoparts store and if i can clean it to get it to pass thats what i want to do
A: It is possible to clean an EGR valve... but from my experience, what others have also told me.... after cleaning it will work for about 2 to 4 weeks (longer if you are lucky) and then you will have the same problem. The only way I have ever fixed them is to replace them.... and I have tried to clean them and have had them cleaned.
Q: is it ok to use higher wattage headlights for my 98 audi a6 quattro?
the manual says 12v-55w i got some that are xenon 12v-100w will it take up alot of battery or damage anything?
A: Highly NOT recommended! These cars (like many Volkswagen's) are known for wiring problems. You are bound to cook a module, relay, fuse, wire, switch, etc. If you don't care if your power windows, power locks, sunroof (if equipped), interior lights, engine not starting anymore or worse yet, an electrical fire is worth it, then do it but in time you may have to dispose of them anyway and maybe the whole car! Just be sure the doors are unlocked when your driving it (if they still work after installing the lights) because you may have to get out of it fast and run before it explodes.
Q: should i change my timing belt on my 1998 audi a6 2.8 quattro?
i bought a 1998 audi a6 quattro few months ago and i don't know if the timing belt was changed or not? how can i tell? my car now has 104,000 miles on it but when i bought it it had like 94k.i know this is a very important belt to fix otherwise the engine will be screwed!
A: YES... unless you are feeling VERY, VERY lucky!!! I have a 99 A6 2.8Q and I am having my TB done this week... it has 59k miles on it.
I also have a VW with 60k miles and the TB has just been done. It has been my experience with VWs and Audis that its best to have the TB done sooner rather than later!! Ive seem what comes after a belt breaks... and the repair costs!!! For me --- its just not worth the gamble...
Q: Where is the oil drain plug located in a 2005 audi a6 quattro?
please be specific.
A: About half way in the front under the car, just follow the dip stick and it is on the bottom, where the oil pan is.
Q: if i install a cold air intake in my 1998 audi a6 quattro will i be ok for emissions?
im located in chicago and all they do here is the hook up they dont check under the hood so will i still pass emissions with a cold air intake?
A: Basically, you already have a cold air intake. the engine only diverts pre heated air when the engine is cold. there is a bi-metallic damper valve in your inlet duct that takes heated air from around the exhaust manifold.
as the engine warms, the damper closes and uses colder air.
Now about your emissions. Colder air will cause poorer emissions due to poorer combustion when your engine is cold.
if you take your car in for testing, make sure its warmed up completely and that it doesnt sit around waiting for the test. you want a hot engine.

Q: What is the average gas milage of an Audi A6, 4.2L V8 quattro?
its a 2002 Audi A6 quattro, its an automatic and its got about 90,000 miles on it
A: Depends on the driver, but you'd probably end up around 18 or 19 in the city... and 25 or 26 on the highway if you aren't thrashing it. You'll probably end up in the low 20's for an average.
If you are looking at purchasing this vehicle make sure the timing belt has been replaced. It is due ~90k, and is a relatively expensive job. Also check if the car has had the front control arms replaced. There was a recall/service action on them up til March of 2006. If they need replacing, it will be out of your pocket now.
Q: I just bought an Audi A6 Quattro with 200000+ miles is there an extended warranty I can buy for the car?
Any one with details please let me know
A: You won't be able to buy an extended warranty on your car specially with that much milage. The best thing you can do is maintenance. Bring your car to a reputable shop for repairs lest you experience what the dude before me experienced.

my gf is looking to buy one for 1800 dollars, its a 96 with 120k something miles....few things wrong but the guy is going to fix...is this a good deal
