Anyone know what the problem could be?

A: Flasher relay burnt

Q: What is the value of a 2001 Audi S4?
It has 70,000 miles and an upgraded chip and RS4 turbos and a navigation system. It also has 19 in chrome wheels.

A: if you sell it you should be able to get $16,500-$17,000 as a trade in probably $13,500-14,000. It will retail for about $19,000 from a dealership so if you are upgrading cars you might be able to hold out for 15K for a trade in. with 70K all the expensive maintenance is due if you have done all of it (i see you have done the turbos) so if the water pump and timing belt have already been done don't be afraid to hold out fo an extra $1500 or $2K and see what happens. the S4 is a great car i hope your not downgrading.

Q: Will an 2001 Audi S4 exhaust system fit on a 2001 A4?
Will an 2001 Audi S4 exhaust system fit on a 2001 A4? Particularly the Borla 14902? On an A4 Quattro with manual transmission?

A: i'm not positive on the answer but i don't think so. It defiantly wont work on a V6 model and i don't think it will work on the 1.8T either. The forum in the link below can be allot of help. i believe you need a Borla 14845 for the 1.8T also look at Milltek and APR. second link is to apr cat back. the 3rd link to the milltek and the last is for the Borla for 1.8T

Q: 2001 AUDI S4 or 1999 M3?
I have a 96 328is right now, I want more power and a newer car with less miles. 2001.5 s4 or 1999 m3? I haven't drove a audi before and I have only driven BMW's since I got my license at 16. I’m 23 and thinking I might not like the audi since I am accustom to the BMW feel. Any suggestions or insight is appreciated.

A: your instincts are spot on. stick with bmw. more involving and a more fulfilling driving experience. any m3 should provide sufficient thrills.

Q: 1999 - 2001 Audi S4 Price and Mileage?
I am looking for a 1999 - 2001 Audi S4. Would anyone recommend this car? Also is this car a high maintenance car? Most of the Audi S4s that I am looking at are around 80 thousand miles will the engine need any big maintenance? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

A: I have an 02 S4. I would recommend the car as long as you have all the records and can see that the car has been properly maintained. While I do not consider the car high maintenance it is not inexpensive to maintain. With 80K you will be coming up on a timing belt and waterpump service if it has not been done already. Figure around $1200 for that. Engine mounts might be tired as well. That'll be a few hours of labor. Remember, it's a German car. I think you'd be safe to budget $2-$3K per year on maintenance. Cheaper than new car payments.

Q: 2001 Audi S4 are they good cars?
were the 2001 Audi S4's reliable, and still reliable, also is there any thing wrong with them, also if anyone could tell me the dimensions of the trunk and the trunk opening, thank you (car audio)

A: I have an Audi A4 99 1.8T it's a good car especially during the winter since it's quattro. Here is a website that will give you all the specs and dimensions for 2001 Audi S4 http://ctny.audiworld.com/mark/s4/specs/specs.html Luggage capacity: 13.67 cu. ft 31.3 cu. ft (63.7 w/ rear seats folded) I would recommend that you would get the car inspected first and check if it had any recalls before doing so. ( I checked online and it said it did not have any). A good website for more info and consumer reviews is edmunds - you can get some opinions from real owners. http://www.edmunds.com/audi/s4/2001/consumerreview.html Good Luck!

Q: 2001 Audi S4 as a First car?
Do you think a 2001 Audi S4 is good as a first car? From what I've read it looks pretty safe, reliable, and barely needs any repairs like other foreign cars I've seen. I just found a few for under $15,000, but the mileage is like 70,000 and above, do you think that will matter? Also, does it look good style wise for a guy? If you can or want to, can you help find more Audi S4's from good sources for under $15,000 that looks good to you? if you can't its fine Is it possible to ship the car over to where you live after you buy it? What colors would you think looks best on the car? Is it hard to find one with an automatic transmission? Or do you have to buy it in a manual? if you do have to have it in manual is it hard to learn how to drive it?

A: Audi's are overpriced and very very expensive to repair, while they may be reliable, even the simplest repairs are very expensive, the parts are worth more than gold! Help your friends, neighbors and your country, please consider an American brand. Help keep our country free and strong....my opinion.

Q: 2001 Audi S4, Making Loud Noise?
My 2001 Audi S4 is making a loud noise when I have it over 3rd gear going over 40. Its a constant noise like a muffler would. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be before I take it to the mechanic? Thanks I have been to the mechanic before because of this, they said it was the wheel barrel. But its doing it again. Its a constant sound. kinda like i need to change geers or something. its happends constantly after going 40. Its doesnt stop I have been to the mechanic before because of this, they said it was the wheel barrel. But its doing it again. Its a constant sound. kinda like i need to change geers or something. its happends constantly after going 40. Its doesnt stop

A: what does it sound like, winding, grinding? only in 3rd gear goin over 40? ---- if you think is the wheel bearing drive on a road that has no traffic and drive like 20mph and turn left and right going 20, kinda like sway back and forth down the road. if the sound is louder when you sway one way then the other then yea you need a new wheel bearing. this sway test puts stress on one wheel bearing at a time by shifting the weight of the car to one side of the car as you turn. good luck

Q: What will it cost to get 600 HP on a 2001 Audi S4?

A: 600HP.... well, about 6 thousand. But it will be with a NOX system, and a few other mod's... not just motor though. 600HP Just motor??? Not going to happen in that tiny hole they call an engine compartment... Sorry.

Q: What will it cost to get 900 HP in an 2001 Audi S4?

A: yea right!!

Q: A 2001 Audi S4 how much hp?
I am looking on line at local ones for sale and the ads are saying anywhere from 318-330hp. I did some research on line and sites are saying 250hp. Is this correct? Or are people just making up hp numbers for there stock S4's?

A: The 2000-2002 Audi S4 has a 2.7L V6 Biturbo engine which is rated at 250 HP. All manufacturer ratings are flywheel horsepower, which is the power at the engine, not at the wheels. A very popular modification to the S4 is replacing the chip in the ECU with another chip that allows more boost. Since the boost is computer controlled, this is a cheap way to get another 70-80 HP from the car. However, in the wrong hands this will accelerate the destruction of turbos, particularly in 2000-2001 models. 2001.5 models have an updated turbo system that is more durable. IN any event, I would look for an unmodified S4 and if you want more power, upgrade the chip yourself with the understanding that if you thrash the car it will self destruct to the tune of $6000, which is the replacement cost of both turbochargers. Having the extra power for occasional use is fine but if you're drag racing or doing track events, it can accelerate the wear on the turbos. Most performance chips allow you to disable the extra boost for when you want to save fuel or drive hard, and let you enable the extra power for normal driving and passing, where the occasional hard burst of acceleration probably won't hurt anything. Of course, maintenance is very important, so be sure to buy only from someone who knows their car well and can prove that they've done all the required maintenance.

Q: 2001 Audi S4 Problem?
I have an 01 Audi S4, it's doing this f unky thing with the oil temp gauge, it will be at 150 then all the sudden go up to the red line then drop back down, also the gas gauge is not reading the gas level right, it said I had no gas when I really had half a tank. Anyway, sometimes it does this, then sometimes its fine. We checked the instrument cluster and there are no DTCs, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

A: Its probably the voltage stabilizer that needs replacing as the name implies it stabilizes the voltage to the instrument pack if it goes it would cause the symptoms you describe.I have an A4 UK spec that is what a Haynes Manuel comes up with in the UK version its incorporated in the printed circuit itself.Regards Mick or as you say " Have a nice day."

Q: WHAT SOUND DO THE TURBOS ON A 2001 AUDI S4 MAKE WHEN THEY ARE WEARING OUT?

A: Its happened to me twice with about 120-140,000 km on the vehicle. You will get a high pitched whining noise for a few hours, and then your engine will cough, sputter, and produce very little power, but it will start and idle fine. Replacing the turbo is going to cost around $2000. To make it last longer, be sure to let the engine idle for one minute before shutting it down, longer if you've been driving it hard. That will help cool it off and make the bearings last longer.

Q: $13,000 for 2001 Audi S4?
Very good condition..but it's got 88,000 miles on it. The color is blue w/ blue suede/black leather interior. I checked carfax...the car had no problems in the past. Is $13,000 reasonable? Or, it's not worth it? Will the maintance be too much? I've never own an Audi before...

A: sounds like a good price, and they can be extremely fun and reliable cars, BUT....I find that these cars are usually sold because the owner has found a repair they just don't wanna pay for. If you're actually interested, it's worth it to pony up the 1 hour average diag charge at your local audi dealer to do a used car pre-purchase inspection. Trust me, they'll find anything that could possibly be wrong, cause that's money in their pocket if they do the repairs.

Q: what do u think about 2001 audi s4?

A: I owned the 2001 S4 for 3 years. It was a great car, but it did have some electrical issues that became annoying. Plus, the timing belt at 60k is an expensive "used car" investment. The bi-turbo is responsive and makes daily driving a blast. The interior of the car is gorgeous. Mine was the "sport" edition and had the silver interior with silver and black seats. Handling was fairly nice, but I lowered it and tightened the suspension up. Power: Great for a daily driver, but I also chipped the car (an amazing, yet cheap mod) Electrical issues: Tail-lights went out 3 times (fuse), the clutch "breaker" went out twice causing the vehicle not to start. If you don't have any moneys for repair and upkeep, I would stay away from this vehicle. If money is not an issue, I think you will be extremely happy, as this car is a BLAST and is still quite the head-turner (especially when the turbos spool).
