Q: Is a 2005 Audi S4 Good in the Long Run?
I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Audi S4, it has 65,000 miles, one-owner, very clean, garage kept and runs and looks like a dream. Price is not bad at all either. My question is are these cars good for 100,000 miles and over? THANKS

A: nice car... (course you already know that) and sure the car is good for 100k and beyond, with the caveat of being maintained, which garage kept is the tipoff. the v8 is bullet proof if your worried about the motor. will "something" break ? sure, but in that league of car, they all have their little issues. I hear that particular year and model are selling fairly briskly as the lease returns are coming in. Coincidence ? (I think not!) You won't regret it....

Q: does any body have a 2004-2005 audi s4...even if u dont would u please tell me some information about it?
how is the car running? does it give problems? is it worth buying one? please i need this help because i really like the car....just how it looks and the engine..lol but i need more information on it...if its ok too spend the money on that car and get it ?

A: the S4 is a great car no matter what generation you get. that said, it is infact a superior machine compared to Audi's entry level cars, so it will be more expensive to fix and maintain. From every person I know that has this, they say it is the best car they have. I would go for it, b/c well its really sporty and yet has a refined class, something hard to find with sports cars now a days.

Q: Is there any sort of supercharging kit for a 2005 Audi S4, if not, what is a good power adder for this car?

A: Yes - http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.php?nav=3&FZID=S4B6253Q&Kitnum=M1S4344450QX Obviously, a supercharger is going to void at least your engine warranty, and being that it's an Audi, you may really want to think that one through (had an '02 S4 that just about lived in the shop). It's a normally aspirated car - you're not going to easily add power without forced induction or nitrous, and adding nitrous to a car like an S4 is moronic. Adding CAI + exhaust + software might net you 30 hp or so, but will also cost in the $3500 range. You probably realize there's no way to turbocharge it without repiping the exhaust system, which will be ridiculously expensive. But, to be frank, the S4 has plenty of power; its weaknesses are braking (due to its weight) and handling (body roll). You'd be much better served addressing those areas first. Check out AWE tuning in the States also.

Q: I'm having trouble with smooth acceleration with my 2005 Audi S4. I think it's the DBW. Anyone familiar?

A: It can be anything from the cam tensioner... ignition coilpacks... turbochargers... oxygen sensors... throttle body... MAF sensor... spark plugs... transmission... you get the picture. If you're within warranty take it to a dealership and have them scan for codes. Even though a Check Engine Light is not present, your OBD computer may still be throwing some sort of DTC (diagnostic trouble code). If you are out of warranty, consider investing in a VAG-Com from ross-tech.com. It gives you the same scanning capabilities as the VAS computers the dealerships have along with some additional diagnostic/monitoring functions. But interpreting codes and knowing how to deal with them takes a bit of know-how. Good luck!

Q: Audi S4 2005.5 Warranty?
I have a 05.5 S4 with 17K miles on it. I just purchased the vehicle and it seems to be a little rough at idle. The power seems to be there, but it seems rough, compared to my 4Cyl Acura at idle. If something is wrong would this be covered under warranty? Also armrest latch is broken would that be covered as well?

A: Asian engines generally idle smooth. As for the lumpy idle on the S4, keep in mind that it has performance camshafts on it, and they are known to produce a lumpy idle. As for the armrest latch, the dealer should replace it as a goodwill gesture. You should have mentioned it when you made the deal to have it replaced.

Q: 2004 Audi S4?
Hi, I am planning on buying a 2004-2005 Audi S4 Manual. What are your thoughts about this car.

A: I would trade my B5 a4 for one in a heart beat. It has the 4.2L, so be prepared to drop a lot more on gas, I believe that it does about 17 or 18 around town.

Q: Mercedes Benz or Audi?
I have 2 options. 1. 2004 Mercedes Benz E500 Black Automatic. 2. 2005 Audi S4 White Automatic. Which would you pick? I live in Los Angeles and you now how traffic is, so is it best to just get an S4 in Automatic or is that going to be stupid in such a fast car? Or should i get the 2004 E500. Both cars will have around 35,000 miles on them.

A: it depends on what kind of ride you want. Audi S4 is an awesome performance vehicle, but my preference would be to get it with standard 6 speed manual transmission. Once you get used to it, it's fun even in traffic. Besides, you're not always going to be going 3 mph... and once on an open road the Audi can't be beat. The Benz E500 is a year older and it screams "soccer mom/dad". It's a nice soft ride with all the creature comforts, (that the S4 should have pleny of), but it's not a performance machine like the S4. It's comfy though... So pick what type of ride you want. I would go for the S4!

Q: Audi S4 OR BMW 330xi?
Right now im looking for a car. And for the past couple months i have been looking at the 2000-2002 audi s4. But for the last week i caught my eye on a black on black bmw 330xi in manual. (2001-2005) If you were in my position what car would you go for. Also I heard the audi s4 gives problems and I want a car thats reliable with performance and luxury. And to me they both are. I am going to do some work to it also when i get it. Im from NY so i need awd thats why i compared it to a 330xi. Im from NY so i need awd thats why i compared it to a 330xi. Also i know the s4 is alittle faster but i dont care. I'm 18 and i just got my first speeding ticket today :( by a state trooper. (said i was doing 84) im gonna fight it though cause people were going 80) but thats for the answers. I think i know what im going for and that is the >. (BMW)

A: I have heard that the twin turbo engine is very expensive to maintain when it hits the 80-90K mark. The turbos have to be rebuilt, which requires pulling the engine. I was told that was a 30 hour job. I don't know exactly, I don't own one, but I believe that's why the engine is now gone and a V8 replaced it.

Q: Which one is better?
Which car would be the best car to have in this list? 2005 Audi S4 2004 BMW M3 1993-1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo 2004-2008 Nissan 350z 2003 Ford SVT Cobra 2003 Corvette Z06 2008 Saturn Sky Just give me your opinions about it. If you choose, and if you can, can you give a reason about why you chose the car? (optional) Thanks

A: I'd rule out the Supra because they are old, but are hard to find so will still be pricey. Plus, a LOT of people drive those thing's super hard. Anything you find may be totally ragged out and need serious repairs. And I don't care what the nameplate on it says, and 5 year old ANYTHING (except maybe Hyundai or Kia) is more reliable than a 10 year old ANYTHING, including Toyota. The Corvette is by far the fastest one. Plus, almost everyone I've ever met with a Corvette totally babies it. They've probably only taken it close to redline once or twice to try it out, but driven it fairly tentatively the rest of the time. It's major downside is that Corvette's really don't have great reliability ratings. I wouldn't say they're "unreliable," but if it's going to be a daily driver and you've got a 40 mile per day commute, I'd probably go with something else. I would not even consider the Audi. Performance wise, it's not even close to the M3 or Corvette, and probably not the Cobra either. Plus, VWs are among the least reliable cars sold in the US nowadays. The M3 is a pretty sweet car. If you want luxury sport and want back seats, it's a no brainer. The problem is that it will cost significantly more to own. Insurance will be more than all the other cars you listed, and any maintenance will be more. I really like 350z's. They've got plenty of power and great handling, and are certainly reliable enough to use as a daily driver. 2 seater's aren't great if it's your only car, but if that's not a problem for you, I think that would be a great car. So anyway, my top choices would be the M3 if you need back seats and don't mind the extra expenses, the ZO6 if it's a second car (not really a daily driver), and the 350z if you don't mind a 2 seater and are going to be commuting to work in it. **For the record, I've never even sat in the Saturn, and I'm not a fan of Mustangs. Not because there's anything wrong with them, they are just not to my taste, and I like other Fords a lot. **

Q: which car wrx or s4?
a 2005 wrx sedan in silver, or a 2001 audi s4 station wagon in yellow? audi would cost me $2000 more. are the s4's worth it, i heard they were, but are they alot of money to maintain?

A: Get the WRX Yes, the Audi would very expensive to maitain and repair The Subaru would much more reliable and cheaper to own. But both are fun cars.

Q: Average Lifespan for Audi's?
I am Very Seriously Considering Getting a B6 Audi S4, however I don't really know much about Audi. I noticed that a good portion of the Audi's I have seen for sale have about 50-60k miles on them (2003-2005). I know that like Honda and Toyota can easily go for 150k miles +, what would you say would be a conservative mileage estimate for the lifespan of Audi's.

A: It's likely that the cars with 50-60K miles on them and a few years old have come off of leases, hence their availability in large numbers (this is true of many other cars). Has nothing to do with car's durability. Audis can last for a long time, say 150K to 200K miles isn't unusual, provided that they're maintained accordingly. The S4 is the high performance variant and highly desired. That said, Audis are not cheap to maintain or fix - they are in a different league as opposed to your garden variety Toyota or Honda, and if you choose to own one, you should budget accordingly. You'll be making the tradeoff in favor of performance, luxury vs. cost here.

Q: Best car for under 25k?
I am looking to get a new car for under 25k. Highest criteria is fastest as possible with lowest miles possible. Also has to be decently nice on the inside and a manual transmission. Choices so far: 2003-2004 Mustang Mach 1 Nissan 350Z Audi S4 Pontiac GTO Chevrolet Corvette C5 Mazda RX-8 2004-2005 Jetta GLI If you have a new car, great. If not, which of these choices and why?

A: I have a Yellow GTO. The thing is awesome. Fast as hell, great looking, comfortable to drive, ok to insure, reasonable to service (oil changes etc.) and mods and aftermarket parts are easy to find and affordable. My hubby has a 350Z. Also great looking. Expensive to insure, tiny inside. Not as fast as the GTO, but handles as well or a little better. We drove the Corvette and it was not as comfortable to drive, but was fast. The Jetta is boring looking compared to the rest but would get better gas mileage. The Audi would also get better gas mileage but also not the wicked fast big block power of the GTO. The Mach 1 is out dated and a pig to handle so I would rule it out personally. The Mazda is too much money for what you get in my opinion.

Q: Which car would you choose?
1. 2005 Audi S4-----Manual 2. 2005 Subaru wrx STi-----Manual Which would you choose and why?

A: Audi,and just because it's NOT Japaneese.

Q: Which car would you choose?!!!!!!?

A: Go for Audi S4; slick interior, V6 engine, surround sound, reasonable gas, luxurious, fast, ect. tons more features Overall great car, well made, and they both have like 30k miles

Q: Which car would you choose?
1.BMW 745i or Li 2003-2004 30K-40K Miles or 2.Subaru WRX STi 2005 25K Miles or 3.Audi S4 2005 30K Miles If i get the 7 series i plan to put some 22inch asantis on it, make everything black on black. If i get the sti or the s4 im gonna fix those up with exhaust etc....rims stuff like that.... Which do i choose?

A: i would rather have a 64 thunderbolt myself.. but i like cars that are fast and cool looking.. have fun with your want to be racer , which ever you buy
